Bougainville

Bougainville is a small island nestled between the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea (PNG). Between 1989 and 1998, Bougainville and the Buka Islands were locked in civil conflict with the government of PNG.

Oxfam began working in Bougainville in 1998 with a series of income-generating projects that have been helping to repair the damage caused by the conflict.
