Coconuts $15
Don’t be shy! Help growers in Samoa and Tonga go organic with this gift. turn these totally tropical nuts into high grade, extra virgin coconut oil. And because they’re organic, they can sell the oil for a higher price at market. This means more money to spend on life’s essentials and reinvest back into the business. It’d be nutty to not buy this gift!

Oxfam is working with the Tonga National Youth Congress to help teach local communities the skills needed to produce their own virgin organic coconut oil. This programme is providing young people with employment, skills and an opportunity to earn an income to lift themselves out of poverty.
Organic products gain a higher market price than chemically-produced products, enabling impoverished farmers to earn a decent living – enough to provide schooling for their children and adequate nutrition for their family. We train locals to oversee the whole production process, from weighing and quality checks through to record keeping.
The equipment and expertise we provide ensures farmers can produce quality virgin coconut oil to sell at the organic market in Nuku’alofa and across other islands in Tonga, as well as for export.
Purchases of Oxfam Unwrapped Organic Coconuts contribute to our rural livelihoods work in Samoa and Tonga.
