2) About the gifts:
Can I find out more information about the people/projects my gifts have funded?
Please view our website www.oxfam.org.nz to see where your gifts have been used and what impact they have had on countless people's lives around the world. Unfortunately, we are unable to tell you exactly where the particular gift that you have bought will have gone, as this would be too costly administratively and mean that less money would be available to use where it is needed most.
How do the animals supplied help to overcome poverty?
Animals can be real life savers in the fight to overcome poverty, particularly to the pastoral communities that we work with. As well as providing milk, owning a goat or cow means people have something they can sell when times are hard, or when they need cash to pay for essentials such as medical costs and school fees. The animals also provide much needed manure, which is an extremely cost-effective and environmentally friendly replacement for chemical fertilisers.
How do you make sure that the animals are well looked after?
We give training in animal husbandry and ensure vaccinations are given to the animals. The animals are such valuable assets to the families who receive them, by helping to bring in income and improve their diets. As a result they know it is in their interests to treat the animals well and with respect. In addition, animals come from local markets in small quantities and are kept in free-range environments where they can graze.
How do you make sure that the animals don't have a negative impact on the environment?
We only provide animals to communities where they are a traditional or essential part of their way of life. The impact on natural resources is always considered as part of the programme of supplying animals, and with proper management animals can be raised without environmental degradation.
Pastoralist communities, for example, have herded their livestock in search of seasonal pasture for centuries - a practice that maintains the stability of the ecosystem and allows wildlife to flourish. Animals are supplied in small quantities to these communities, often giving just one animal to each household. Animals, especially goats, consume crop wastes, residues and household scraps, and produce manure. This helps the soil to become rich in protein, energy and nutrients, meaning the vegetables and fruit produce are even more nutritious.
What do the cards look like?
Each printed card will have a photo of the gift on the cover and a description of how that gift fights poverty on the inner left. The inner right is blank for you to write your message to your recipient. E-cards and PDF cards will have the same photo and description to go with your message.

Can I get more than one card per gift I buy?
Unfortunately not. If we allowed people to do this it would have an impact on costs and could also start to devalue the gifts in the catalogue. However we do offer a good range of lower priced gifts, so why not purchase several smaller items instead?
For companies who would like to buy a gift over $350 and purchase extra cards with their own logo and message, please call 0800 400 666 or 09 355 6500 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm) to discuss the options, or visit our Oxfam Unwrapped Corporate Gifts website: http://www.oxfamunwrapped.org.nz/corporate/shopping.asp.

When you select your gift, you will be asked to "Please choose the card type you would like delivered". Select the option "I do not wish to receive a card for my gift".
For multiple orders of the same gift or if you miss this step, you can change this in the "Your cart" screen. Click on "Change card type" for each gift and select the option "I do not wish to receive a card for my gift".
What if I live outside New Zealand and want to send a card to someone in New Zealand without the card coming to me first?
If you are ordering from outside New Zealand and would like the cards to go direct to the recipient in NZ without coming to you for personalisation, we can do this for you for a fee of $5. You will be given this option during the checkout process, when you get to the "Order total" screen.
Unfortunately we can only offer this service to those ordering outside New Zealand.

Click on "Send out" and we will then send your guests an invite to view your wedding list at Oxfam Unwrapped. We will also send you an email with your list number and contact details in case you have any queries.
Why have some of the gifts been removed from my wedding or wish list?
The gifts have been removed because they are no longer available in the new catalogue, as some new gifts have been identified as more needed by the communities we work with. It would be great if you could add some new gifts to your list. You just need to log in, and then you can browse the gifts, click on the picture and "Add to wedding list" or "Add to wish list".

6) About ecards
How does the ecard option work?
Ecards are electronic versions of our gift cards that you can send straight to your friend or family's inbox.
If you want to send an instant gift or choose the exact date it will arrive, then you can send an e-card. When you add a gift to your cart, you will be asked to choose your card type. For multiple orders of the same gift or if you miss this step, you can change this in the "Your cart" screen. Click on "Change card type" for each gift and select the option " Send an electronic card".
You will also be able to add a personal message and choose to send the ecard straightaway or at a later date of your choice.
Can I buy a gift in lieu of Christmas cards and send an ecard to all of my friends?
Unfortunately not, our ecard scheme has been designed to send one ecard per gift. The ecard is a great way to save paper and for your recipient to receive their gift at a time of you're choosing, on their birthday for example. It was also introduced for last minute present buyers so that their recipient received something in time for the occasion for which it was intended. Currently, we're not able to offer the option of sending the ecard to more than one email address.
I/my recipient hasn't received my/their ecard - what has happened?
There are two common reasons that an ecard does not arrive. The first thing to check is whether the ecard went to your recipients SPAM or junk mail folder. Then check that the email address you entered was the correct one. If this happens, don't panic! We are able to resend ecards notifications, if you call us on 0800 400 666 or 09 355 6500 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm).
There is a problem with my ecard! I can't open it or the message has been erased!
We're sorry that you have had a problem with your ecard. To enable us to help, please forward us the ecard that is not working and include an explanation of the problem you're experiencing to oxfam@oxfam.org.nz. We will look into this and get back to you as soon as possible. . Or if you need to resend it urgently, please call us on 0800 400 666 or 09 355 6500 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm).
